Decision Training

I offer short courses on decision making, ranging from a 3 hour quick look to a multi-day deep dive, either in one go or over several weeks.  The focus is on understanding what research and experience suggests a good decision is, and how our own conscious and sub-conscious behaviours can help, or hinder, good decision making. I’ll introduce pragmatic frameworks for good decisions and provide tools and templates to make it easy to get started.  The overall intent is to help (project) leaders facilitate good decision making in their organization on an ongoing basis.

Key toolkits elements that can be included:

  • Opportunity framing workshops
  • Road mapping decisions
  • Pre-mortems
  • The decision quality chain
  • The power of decision hierarchies
  • Decision force-fields e.g. drivers & barriers
  • Strategy option tables
  • Decision matrices
  • Scenarios vs. uncertainty – what’s the difference?
  • Cognitive biases in decision making
  • Defining kill signals
Target Audience:
Opportunity or project leaders or senior team members with responsibility to prepare/propose decisions as part of their daily work.
