Mid-Level Leadership Training
The mid-career transition many workers make from being a project leader, primarily focused down the organization managing a team working to a schedule, to being an opportunity manager or executive primarily focused up the organization, can be a difficult one. Communication requirements and opportunities change dramatically with time coming at a more of a premium. Performance measures are less obvious and the people aspects of management more important. Much corporate training in this area is long term. I aim to deliver a wide variety of quick and practical tools that can help these mid-career new managers make the transition as effectively as possible, sourced from a wide variety of different “how-to” sources.
Toolkit elements include:
- Motivation
- The power of silence
- Constructive discord
- The judicious use of power
- The tool box mindset
- Managing difficult conversations
- Managing up vs. managing down
- Authenticity
- Negotiating success factors
- Radical candour
- …and more…
